My son got his ears pierced here several months ago. It was a great experience and when he had saved some money and wanted to get some nicer earrings he wanted to go back. Apparently today the employees are aloof and rude. There were four employees when we walked in and no customers. 3 of them promptly disappeared and the fourth remained glued to her phone behind the counter. She seemed very annoyed when I interrupted her to ask for some assistance.

Overpriced jewelry. Surly and rude employees. My son did however find a nice pair of earrings that he loves. Doesn't make up for a complete lack of basic friendliness.

Maybe if I was a mother with her daughter it would be different ‍♂️ The layout is a bit chaotic. There's no flow really. But it's a very cute setting.

None of the staff were masked, which is bafflingly unsafe for clients AND staff in the modern world. If I am going somewhere where I need to take my mask off (face piercing), the staff should at least be masked to keep everyone safe. This would be like a dentist not wearing a mask while inches from your face.

Piercer Rita was very friendly and helpful, as were both of the people working the desk.

I don't know if I will go back, due to the lack of Covid precautions, but at least they know what they're doing in terms of piercing. It was also reasonably priced for Chicago standards. At this point I have come here multiple times, starting with my initial experience with an ear styling/curation appointment, followed by a new piercing the same day. The selection of pieces is huge and beautiful, so much that you could spend a long time looking , but guaranteed you will fine the perfect one. The staff there is super helpful with helping you choose and match/style an entire ear for your desired jewelry look and display it for you on a silicone ear model. They also offer some of their insights or advice on what might go together (if you ask for it! They definitely want it to be a YOU choice). Pricing is fair, considering they offer lots of real gold pieces and other metals and the level of professional, kind attention and 1:1 service you receive from this team.
I have nothing bad to say tbh. The shop is beautiful with a nice, clean professional aesthetic.
But the most important thing is the staff. Big shoutout to Chris- who is my new go to piercing guru and the sweetest and kindest human. Him, Molly and other staff (I’m sorry i don’t recall the name) took amazing care of me when I walked-in sans appointment and was on a time crunch needing a jewelry change. Thank you ❤️
11/10 recommend About 20 years after I last took my earlobe piercings out I decided I wanted to start wearing earrings again. I never even considered that the holes would still be open after so long a time, so I booked an appointment for piercing. The piercer immediately noticed that my ears had been pierced in the past and was able to quickly determine that the holes were still open. She placed studs in to stretch the holes and decreased the amount I had been quoted since I did not need piercing. The entire process took about 15 minutes and customer service was excellent all around. Will definitely return if I decide to get additional piercings! After getting less-than-ideal jewelry put in a new piercing from a different shop, Identity was a lifesaver! They have a beautiful space, a huge selection of high quality jewelry and the piercer showed me how to properly care for my piercing. This is now the only place I'll be going for piercings. Chris at Identity Body Piercing is exceptional. His patience and understanding were greatly appreciated, especially given my high anxiety. After my service, I experienced a panic attack in my car, which was unrelated to the establishment or their service. In the midst of the panic, I ended up removing two earrings. Upon my return, Chris and the rest of the staff were incredibly supportive, demonstrating genuine kindness and a positive attitude towards mental health. I cannot speak highly enough of this establishment and Chris's professionalism. When I'm ready for my next piercing, I wouldn't hesitate to seek out Chris's expertise once again. Highly recommended!

Pictured: While no new piercings adorned my ears during this visit, it served as the perfect opportunity for a comprehensive earring overhaul. With the exception of the primary piercings designated for statement pieces, this establishment became the exclusive provider of all my everyday earrings. The introduction of flat backs proved to be nothing short of revolutionary, earning my utmost admiration and an impeccable rating of 10000/10. I got my septum done here after wanting one for YEAARS. I paid around $75 total for a purple titanium horseshoe + service and was well informed throughout the entirety of the process!! From the types of jewelry and whys, to the procedure and what each step meant and its purpose. My piercer was RITA and truly they have so much knowledge of their craft I had NO anxiety. Every person in the establishment was super helpful and friendly, from the greeting walking in to the hype walking out. It’s been just over a week and it’s already healing lovely! Grateful for this supportive and educational team and looking forward to saving for more!! Really cool and clean studio. I had my cartilage pierced somewhere else and wasn’t happy with the jewelry they made me use. After letting it heal for a 6 weeks, I came in here just to browse and ending up having someone change the jewelry for me. They anodized a stud which ended up looking really cool and unique.

The piercer who changed my jewelry was amazing. She was so fast and gentle, I barely felt any pain despite my piercing still being a little tender. Highly recommend and I will be coming here for my next piercing! I went here and got pierced with a bar that was too short. The piercer was really nice and had great manners, but the piercing was doomed from the beginning, as it started to sink into my lip the first few hours. Went to another piercer to get a longer bar but the piercing just wouldn’t heal. The piercing was wonky, as I had a side lip piercing and wanted to get the other side pierced so I’d have snakebites. Such a shame because it was my first time getting it done professionally and it was like $80…. Walked in for a conch piercing and was seen right away. The piercer was skilled and efficient. Healing nicely so far. Will definitely be back for future piercings.
